Unlikely Republicans
Lt. Gov. Michael Steele has an uphill battle to win the open U.S. Senate seat for Maryland. He is battling a long time Democratic representative, in a state that holds a two-thirds majority of Democrats over Republicans. But, he is using his African American heritage to change some long held beliefs about the Republican party in the state's African American communities, while his opponent cohorts with failed Presidential candidate John Kerry.
